“Start things off with a ’69 classic “It’s Your Thing.” A funk playlist wouldn’t be complete without the infamous Detroit parliament-funkadelic, who ask for their funk to be “uncut” for sanitary purposes. Then I take you back to San Francisco with the hometown heroes, Sly and the Family Stone. JB and Billy Preston will lay down some more of that good good. I had to throw in some reggae influenced Stevie Wonder to mix it up. Then we end with a roller coaster ride into the jungle with Kool and the Gang.”
