Winter Dance Concert 2016 opens Friday night, 7:30-9:30 in Lick’s Ehrer Theater and repeats Saturday, 7:30-9:30.
D1 teaching assistant and dancer Eric Garcia ‘17, gave us the inside scoop on the introductory classes’ dance. “Creating for others is a completely different process. I have been pushed to establish an enriching curriculum for my students, that develops their technique and performance skills.” Looking towards the more advanced classes, Leila Kashani ‘17 is expecting an innovative performance. “The really unique thing about the Lick dance program is the diverse movement styles of each individual,” noted Kashani, “So I think the really exciting thing about the concert is that no two pieces are alike and I think that really speaks to how we are pushed as dancers and choreographers by Zoe. Especially this concert the really cool thing is that there are a lot of pieces with dancer voiceover and focused on portraying a specific message to the community in ways that haven’t been done in the past.” The finale Is an ebullient not to Toy Story.
Co-dancers and co-presidents Kashani and Garcia both say, “Do come, It’s REALLY cool.”
